· Theft from vehicles is one of the most easily prevented crimes.
· It takes only a few seconds for a thief to smash your window and grab whatever is visible.
· Do not leave valuables in plain view in your car, no matter where you park.
· GPS units, Laptops and Ipod’s are the items stolen most frequently.
· If possible, take all valuables with you or place them in your trunk when leaving vehicle.
· Lock your car and park in a well-lit area.
· Report any suspicious activity that you see in parking lots or in your neighborhood._

Theft From Auto Locations
Most victims of theft from vehicles are visitors to the City of Philadelphia. If you know anyone visiting or happen to see a potential victim, be a good citizen and give them a warning. The thieves target out of state vehicles, because they know that if they get caught, the victim is unlikely to return to Philadelphia for a Court hearing.
